Photo diary

Last week in Social Studies we did a photo diary. The photo diary is a fun activity that can used in all grade levels. The objective of the project was to take  pictures of different objects and  connect the objects with Social Studies. This is a great hands on activity that will serve several students' interest. The photo diary will and can require students to use their imagination and connect simple objects with a content.

Social Studies!

Last week in Social Studies we did reader's theatre. My group acted out the Boston Tea Party scene. I had one role in the entire scene. Doing reader's theatre reminded me of theatre in middle and high school. Reader's theatre is an great activity to use in a Social Studies class for all grade levels. Students have the chance to interactive with their peers as well as the acting scene.

Social Studies!

This past week, I read a great article on teachers having a critical voice. A critical voice expresses a person’s beliefs and values. Some people do not use their critical voice because they are afraid it may cause a dispute. However, sometimes people who use their critical voice can or will gain respect from their peers and employees. Teacher's critical voice can bring change and improvement to their school's environment. As an educator, I will always express my critical voice.
